The Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Cllr Randall Williams, on Thursday announcedmembers of the Mayoral Committee (MMCs) who will assist him to prioritise the business of core service delivery. “I need a strong team with vast skills and experience,” said Cllr Williams. The Executive Mayor believes the new team will channel their energy in providing services to the people of Tshwane.The new MMCs and their portfolios are as follows: 

  • Cllr Mpho Mehlape-Zimu Human Settlements
  • Cllr Sylvester Phokoje: Human Capital Management and Shared Services
  • Cllr Thabisile Vilakazi: Community and Social Development Services
  • Alderman Karen Meyer: Community Safety
  • Cllr Sakkie du Plooy: Health
  • Cllr Mare-Lise Fourie: Finance
  • Cllr Phillip Nel: Utility Services and Regional Operations and Coordination
  • Cllr Dikeledi Selowa: Roads and Transport
  • Cllr Dana Wannenburg: Environment and Agriculture Management
  • Cllr Bruce Lee: Economic Development and Spatial Planning 
  • The Executive Mayor also indicated that he has developed a detailed ten-point service delivery intervention plan to ensure service delivery to Tshwane residents. The MMCs will oversee the implementation and execution of the deliverables in their respective portfolios. The ten-point service delivery intervention plan is as follows:
  •  1.       Prioritising the electrical grid and water infrastructure
  • 2.       Implementing a robust COVID-19 management strategy
  • 3.       Creating a reliable waste and refuse removal service
  • 4.       Providing stringent financial management and oversight
  • 5.       Enhancing city safety and emergency services
  • 6.       Promoting employment and economic growth in the city
  • 7.       Supporting the vulnerable and providing social relief
  • 8.       Fast-tracking development by cutting red tape
  • 9.       Applying expansive financial cost-cutting across City processes
  • 10.     Maintaining and expanding road infrastructure
