The Government Communications and Information System (GCIS) on Friday morning paid tribute to Ronnie Mamoepa by naming a press room after the late African National Congress (ANC) icon in Pretoria, Hatfield.
It was a glorious moment at the GCIS as they held the unveiling of the Ronnie Mamoepa Media Centre. The Media Representative Mr Reggie Moalusi defined Ronnie Mamoepa as the humanist African Philosophy, recalling his duties, sacrifices, commitment which personified the age-old values of Humanity (UBUNTU) throughout his profession.
The Minister in The Presidency, Jackson Mthembu joined the Mamoepa family along with the fallen stalwart’s former cadre that served with him during his illustrious career. Mthembu made the bold statement that we would not have former President, Thabo Mbeki and the now serving President, Cyril Ramphosa if it was not for Ronnie, painting out the colorful leadership role he played.
Olefile Mamoepa, who is Ronnie’s surving son said that he remembered his father as a lead character who would implement decisions even in their household
The Marketing Director of Ronnie Mamoepa’s Foundation Grooving Nchabeleng said that the foundation will be providing scholarships in the year 2020 to honour Ronnie Mamoepa’s high interest and regard in education.
