Dreams RSA keep Madiba’s dream alive

With everyone doing their part for Mandela Day, Dreams RSA, swap their pens for overalls to help with cleaning at the Mamelodi Day Hospital and the SOS children’s home in Pretoria.

Dreams RSA, a community organisation helping young learners to choose a correct career path, spent their morning cleaning windows, picking up rubbish and cutting the grass at the hospital.

When all hard work was done, Dream RSA, moved on to the SOS children’s home where they played indigenous games with the kids and gave teenage girls sanitary pads.

“Giving back to the community makes a huge difference in the hearts of those in need. We can change South Africa jus by giving a little time to the community in helping those in need and this could make us a united country,” said Konani Malange one of the organisers.
“I would like to quote words from our icon, Nelson Mandela, which says ‘education is the greatest engineer of our social development’, let’s relate those words in changing our situation because the poorer are getting poorer and the richer are getting richer. We want to change that through education because education is the key to success,” he said.

Dreams RSA, was established last year in September, by a group of students who saw that learners from previously advantage schools struggle to choose a right career path for themselves.
