The Independent Electoral Commission continues to count the votes for the National and Provincial Elections at the National Results Operation Centre (R.O.C). The counting started soon after the closing of voting stations on Wednesday the 8th of May, a day which was declared Election Day.
The African National Congess (ANC) has been leading in the interim since morning until the evening, with the Democratic Alliance (DA) in second place, followed by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Freedom Front Plus (VF plus) in fourth place ahead of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) which sits in fifth place.
The ANC National Chairperson , Gwede Mantashe said that the party had no fear or pressure whatsoever as the party is presumed to be heading for another reign as the ruling party.
The counting of votes is set to continue until Saturday, when the concluded results will be revealed to the nation.
“I trust the Electoral Commission with the profession [that] they have [at hand], so I see no need of doubts and fear about the results “ said the relaxed and happy Mantashe, with respect to the counting process of the votes.
